Every year, thousands of healthy horses in the United States are sent to slaughter in Mexico and Canada for human consumption. In 2024 alone, 19,000 innocent lives were lost.
This is not euthanasia, as big Ag would lead you to believe…it’s a brutal and inhumane practice.
Our American horses endure a horrific trip, crammed into trailers and traveling for days with no food, water or rest. And when they reach their final destination, their suffering is far from over. The slaughter process is rarely quick or painless…some horses are still conscious as they are hoisted up on pulleys and brutally dismembered.

Until a federal law called the SAFE ACT is passed to protect horses from the horrific slaughter pipeline, the only way to save them is by rescuing them directly from auction.
