Meet Ruby, one of Believe Ranch & Rescue’s newer residents! Sweet Ruby was rescued from auction in the later part of 2021 and has been winning over our team ever since. Her friendly red chestnut face is always one of the first at the gate and she loves meeting new people. She is also easy to catch and loves attention! Ruby is a younger girl but seems to have had a good start in life; our trainer notes that she is nicely broke to ride and has beautiful ground manners. Though she is a bit nervous and sensitive, her smarts and enthusiasm shine once she knows and trusts her rider. She’s an intuitive young lady and has a talent for guessing what her rider wants and doing it before she is even asked. Ruby is enthusiastic and excited to do pretty much anything, though it seems that she might have a preference for work over arena time. This girl has a bright future and would be a great horse for English or Western enthusiasts alike! 

In the paddock, Miss Ruby seems to have a natural preference for female companions. However, she is currently in a mixed herd and doing well with both the guys and the gals. She is a middle-of-the-pack horse but is able to adapt to the personalities of her friends; she currently isn’t too bossy but could become a bit bossier if the horses with her are more dominant. 

Ruby is up-to-date on vaccines, worming, teeth float, farrier, and vetting.

Recommended Rider:   Suitable for an Intermediate rider who is comfortable working with sensitive and nervous horses. Someone who can invest time into earning Ruby’s trust and riding her multiple times per week to help her burn her youthful energy would be ideal. She is also still building strength and muscle and would do best with a slightly smaller rider until she is more fit.

Adoption Requirements:   None. Ruby is a sweet gal and gets along well with the other horses in her herd. However, she is a pretty independent girl and is therefore happy to be adopted out alone.
