Cheeto

Cheeto

Roan Draft Cross

Cheeto is a handsome and kind-hearted gelding currently in training at Believe Ranch & Rescue. This former YMCA kids’ horse has a sweet and willing nature that shines through in everything he does. He’s been kid-broke to ride and is now being thoughtfully assessed by our trainer as he settles into his new chapter of life.

Cheeto has already shown us just how gentle and cooperative he is. He stands perfectly still for both the farrier and veterinarian, and recently had his feet trimmed, teeth floated, and vaccines updated — all with a calm, patient demeanor. He’s also very easy to halter and handle on the ground, making him a joy to work with.

While Cheeto is still building confidence with lunging — something we believe stems from learned insecurities — he continues to improve with each session. We have not yet put him under saddle here at Believe, but based on his background at the YMCA riding program, we’re confident he’ll be a wonderful partner under saddle once his assessment is complete.

Cheeto shares a close bond with his pasture mate Reno, a semi-retired mare who also came from the same YMCA program. The two are inseparable friends who provide each other with comfort and companionship.

Recommended Rider:  Cheeto is currently in training and progressing beautifully. Based on his background and temperament, we anticipate that he will make a safe and steady kid’s riding horse or a gentle mount for a beginner or intermediate rider. We’ll continue to update this section as his training advances and we learn more about his preferences and capabilities under saddle.

Adoption Requirements:  Cheeto will be available for adoption once his training assessment is complete. We’re seeking a loving, permanent home that can offer him continued kindness, consistency, and care.

Please note: Cheeto and his best friend Reno are deeply bonded and must be adopted together with their other pasture mate Groot. They all share a special connection and cannot be separated. As with all Believe horses, adopters must complete our adoption application and interview process to ensure the best match possible.

Ailments/Limitations:  At this time, we have not discovered any lameness or health concerns with Cheeto. He moves comfortably and soundly at the walk, trot, and canter, and shows no signs of discomfort. We’ll continue to monitor his progress closely as he advances in his training.

Cheeto is now available for adoption with Reno and Groot to a perfect for ever home!
